Rescue the Vulnerable
As I mention in the book “Don’t Waste Your Pain,” part of our healing comes when we look beyond ourselves and become conduits of blessing and healing to others.
One of the ways I’ve chosen to do this is by helping rescue those who are caught up in the evil of human trafficking. We partner with Ashray Children @ Risk to help rescue boys and girls from abuse, trafficking, and forced labour.
Latest News: 16-year-old Rescued from Trafficking
Just recently Adhira*, who is 16 years old and lives with her parents in Bihar, was rescued by our team. Not long ago an unknown woman rented a small apartment adjacent to Adhira’s home and befriended Adhira and her family. One morning two months later, Adhira informed her parents that she was going with this lady to see a doctor, but Adhira never returned. Her abductor rented a small apartment some distance away and forcefully kept Adhira quiet indoors while men came and used her. The neighbours became suspicious and questioned this lady, who feared the neighbour’s curiosity and left immediately with Adhira. With his daughter missing many days Adhira’s father informed our Ashray team, who together with the father filed a report at the local police station. The police found that Adhira had been trafficked and sold to a brothel in Delhi. Gratefully through the efforts of our Ashray team and the Police, Adhira was rescued and restored back to her family!
Our support directly helps rescue efforts, educating children to recognize traffickers, as well as rehab centers for those recovering from trafficking and abuse.
